Samsung’s Solve for Tomorrow 2024: Empowering Filipino STEM Students to Solve Real-World Problems
Manila, Philippines – Calling all Filipino STEM enthusiasts! Samsung Philippines is back with the second season of its exciting initiative, Solve for Tomorrow 2024. This competition empowers public science high school students (Grades 8-10) to showcase their innovative ideas and develop tech-driven solutions for local and environmental sustainability challenges.
A Platform for Innovation and Social Change
In partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd) and Philippine Science High School System (PSHS), Solve for Tomorrow 2024 provides a platform for young minds to tackle real-world problems. Students are encouraged to think creatively and leverage technology and AI to create impactful solutions that benefit their communities.
Showcase Your Ideas and Win Big
Students can participate by forming teams of four (4) with a faculty advisor from their respective schools. Each team is tasked with identifying a relevant local or environmental issue and proposing a solution using technology and AI. Entries can be submitted in the form of a slide presentation (maximum 5 slides, 2,500 words) or a detailed word document (7 pages, Arial 11 font size). Rigorous Evaluation and Rewarding Prizes
A panel of industry experts will evaluate entries based on innovation, relevance, feasibility, STEM integration, sustainability, and clarity of proposal. Ten shortlisted finalists will be announced on November 13, 2024, and receive expert mentoring to refine their solutions. The ultimate competition will take place on December 3, 2024, where finalists will present their final proposals to a distinguished board of judges for a chance to win top honors.
The Grand Prize winner will receive an impressive package:
- PHP 500,000 worth of Samsung devices for their school
- PHP 100,000 cash prize for the team members
- PHP 20,000 cash prize for the faculty advisor
- Samsung phones and tablets for all team members and advisor
Second and Third Prize winners will also receive attractive prize packages, including Samsung devices for their schools, cash prizes for themselves and their advisors, and Samsung gadgets. All ten finalists will be awarded consolation prizes.

Solve for Tomorrow is an extension of Samsung’s global CSR vision, “Together for Tomorrow! Enabling People.” This initiative aims to empower young STEM leaders to unlock their potential and drive positive social changes through technology. Since its global launch in 2010, Solve for Tomorrow has provided a platform for talented students, impacting over 2 million people and reaching 50 countries.

The program debuted in the Philippines in 2023, receiving enthusiastic participation from science high school students across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Past winners showcased innovative ideas to address crucial issues like energy efficiency, water filtration, and agricultural waste management.
