Samsung Celebrates First Galaxy Campus Graduates, Expands Program for Future Tech Leaders

Manila, Philippines – Samsung Philippines solidified its dedication to youth development and education by celebrating the graduation of the first batch of Galaxy Campus Student Ambassadors. This pioneering program, launched in October 2023, empowers students to become tech innovators, content creators, and sustainability advocates.

A Springboard for Tech Talent

The Galaxy Campus Student Ambassador Program is a global initiative designed to provide exceptional students with a 6-month immersion into the world of technology and content creation. Fifty university students, meticulously chosen from a nationwide pool, comprised the program’s inaugural batch.

Experiences Shaping the Future

These young talents embarked on a journey alongside a leading tech giant. They participated in exclusive events like the launch of Samsung’s first AI-powered phone, honed their skills in collaborative workshops with Team Galaxy, and actively supported environmental initiatives like the Galaxy Earth Run.

A Celebration of Growth and Achievement

The culmination of this enriching journey was a vibrant graduation ceremony. Min Su Chu, President of Samsung Electronics Philippines (SEPCO), congratulated the graduating class in his opening remarks. Dominic Nacorda, Marketing Communications Manager, highlighted the program’s milestones.

Recognition and Reflection

Samsung Philippines awarded certificates to all graduates, with top performers receiving special recognition. In a moving valedictorian speech, Iemerie John Maguit emphasized the transformative experiences of the program and the valuable lessons learned.

“Content missions, exciting events, and cutting-edge Galaxy gadgets – these were the pillars of our journey,” Maguit said. “But the best part of Galaxy Campus was the community. Thank you for providing a creative space where we could share our stories.”

Inspiring the Next Generation

The evening concluded with motivational words from Yna Quimson, Head of Corporate Marketing at Samsung. She expressed her well wishes for the graduates’ future endeavors. Poignant photos captured the spirit of the event, commemorating this significant milestone.

Expanding Opportunities for Filipino Talent

This celebration marked the program’s expansion. Samsung Philippines, demonstrating its unwavering commitment to Galaxy Campus, is doubling the program size to include 100 students in the second batch. This decision amplifies the program’s impact, nurturing even more young Filipinos with the tools and support they need to thrive in the tech and creative industries.
