One Championship: Team Lakay Press Conference

After another pair of victories in the One Championships: Conquest of heroes and capturing their 4th world championship in the promotion, the vaunted Team Lakay held a press conference to discuss what has transpired.

Coach Mark Sangiao was flanked by his for world champions belts in tow and placed on the table. Another Team member who also won in the event also joined them. It has been a long and fruitful road for the team from Baguio City from the days when they started when they were just pure strikers coming from their wushu background and transforming themselves to complete mixed martial artists with world class striking and ground game.

The guidance of Coach Mark has transformed the fabled gym into currently the most dominant gym in the history of One Championship capturing four of the 8 men’s title in the promotion and with Brandon Vera’s victory the same night 5 titles are currently same in Filipino’s hands until the end of the year. Something we as fight fans are truly overjoyed about. Truly the time of Team Lakay has arrived with the new breed of champions.

But as they always say getting to the top is always easier than staying at the top. Now team Lakay has painted a huge target on their backs and all of the active gyms in One Championships is gunning to take them down. GYms Like Singapore’s Evolve which is always a threat with the world-class fighters and continuing evolution in the fight game. Also, top fighters coming into the promotion fighters from the UFC like Demetrius Johnson and Eddie Alvarez who are both legends in MMA.
