Nissan GTR-50 Godzilla Refined
Nissan GTR-50 Godzilla Refined.
Italdesign recently unveiled the Nissan GTR-50 to commemorate the former’s 50th Annivesary. From th looks of things they did an awesome-jaw-dropping-face-melting-rolling-art type of makeover. Godzilla never looked so good. The car was based on on the Nissan R35-GTR, the exterior and interior is radically redisigned and given the luxury make over. It looks like the car is already moving even in pictures. But the redesign that stands out for us is that redesigned rear end with the touch of gold and redesigned rear brake lights that looks like jet exhaust ports pushing the car faster.
Under all the trappings is the the DNA of the Nissan R35-GTR, 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6, which has been overhauled with larger turbochargers from the GT-R GT3 car, larger intercoolers, a heavy-duty crankshaft, different pistons, new connecting rods and bearings, high flow fuel injectors and more. The dual-clutch sequential six-speed rear transaxle and differentials were beefed up as well. All told, the GT-R50 makes 710 hp and 575 lb-ft of torque.
This is not the next generation Nissan GTR, but it looks like what the GTR might look like in 20 years. The technology behind the car seems to be a couple of years ahead of what we have right now. One thing is definitely for sure, we might be seeing design cues from this car in future incarnations of the GTR series of the legendary car’s continuous evolution.
