MLBB Back Online in the U.S.: What Happened?
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) is back in action in the United States! The game’s services returned to normal after the new Trump administration temporarily lifted the ban on TikTok. This exciting news broke on Tuesday morning (Philippine time).
Smooth Return for Players
U.S.-based players took to Twitter and Reddit to share their experiences of logging into the game smoothly. They received an in-game email from Moonton, MLBB’s developer, announcing the good news. “Great news! Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is officially back after a brief pause!” Moonton said in their email. Players were prompted to open the app as usual without needing any additional log-ins.
Rewards and Gifts
Players reported receiving in-game activity rewards and gifts from the developers. Moonton encouraged players to contact them for any concerns, ensuring a seamless return to the game.
The Role of the Trump Administration
The announcement came after the newly-installed Trump administration made promises to ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, to find solutions to keep the app running in the country. ByteDance acquired MLBB’s developer Moonton in 2021.
Marvel Snap Also Returns
Marvel Snap, a game published under Nuverse—another ByteDance subsidiary—also returned to activity alongside MLBB. This follows TikTok’s suspension of services in the United States on January 19 morning (PH Time) after ByteDance failed to sell the service before the deadline set by the newly-enacted Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications law. ByteDance-owned apps and services, including MLBB, Marvel Snap, and CapCut, followed suit. TikTok’s services went back into operation 14 hours after the ban.
Passionate MLBB Community
U.S. MLBB players are among the most passionate regions of the game. The country has a national team and clubs representing it in international competitions. Teams such as BloodThirstyKings, Team Gosu, and TheOhioBrothers have represented the U.S. in the M-Series. Players like General, MobaZane, and Hoon have become household names in the MLBB esports scene.
A Welcome Return
The temporary lift of the TikTok ban has brought MLBB back to its U.S. players, much to their delight. With the game’s services restored, players can once again enjoy their favorite battles and competitions. The passionate MLBB community in the U.S. is thrilled to be back in action, and the future looks bright for this beloved game.
