Lenovo Legion Y530 More Fire Power For Your Arsenal

Lenovo Legion Y530 More Fire Power For Your Gaming Arsenal

We recently wrapped up a real world review of the Lenovo Legion Y530. The Lenovo Legion Y530 is the first Legion Laptop we are able to get our hands on to do a review.

The Flat Black Look

The Legion Y530 has a Matt Black Finish with a shiny finish spelling out the name Legion which gives the laptop the tasteful gaming feel. But with all matt finishes, it is actually a finger smudge magnet. More so if you have oily hands as I do, but I really like the finish of the Legion Y530.

The I/O Ports

Continuing our look of the outside of the Legion Y530, it does offer a wide array of I/O ports. Two USB type C ports on either side of the laptop and a complete array of I/O ports at the back. This is quite refreshing since most laptop designs now ignore the rear portion in exchange for cooling vents. That is not a problem with the Legion Y530 since the laptop blows the air down from the bottom part.

The Display

The full HD display did not blow us away but, we seen similar to the median coming from the competition at this price. Lenovo get’s props for having thin bezel. The webcam that was put on the bottom of the screen is a little bit awkrad for me.

What’s Under the Keyboard

Let’s start off with the Graphics Card. The Legion Y530 come with the capable Nvidia 1050Ti GPU which is more than enough to handle most of the current Triple A games.

The processing power comes from the 8th Generation Intel i-7-8750H Processor. The six core processor combined with the 1050Ti graphics card gives you decent benchmark scores. But at the end of the day, these scores are just numbers.

Playing CS GO for quite a long time gave an awesome result. The keyboard was responsive and comfortable to use. I did not encounter any drop frames or delay in the response. That is a huge advantage when you are using the Legion Y530 for first-person shooting games.

The Amount of detail also was awesome. Over all our experience playing CS GO with the Legion Y530 is really great. he combination of the CPU and GPU really delivers.

We also played DOTA 2 for a long duration of time we also go the same results.

The results when palying Assasin’s Creed Unity also showed awesome resulsts.

The Verdict

For an etry level Gaming Laptop, theLegion Y530 delivers good results. It does not blow you mind with amazing perfromance and perfect display. BUt for the segent and the price point, we can say that it can hold it’s own in the segment.

We at techbeatph.com give the Lenovo Legion Y530 the Silver Rating. For the overall performance, premium design and awesome display. Legion has definitely got our interest in their entry in the gaming segment in the local market.
