Filmmaker Zig Dulay from the Philippines will lead a free filmmaking session at Canon.

Hello, would-be filmmakers! The filmmaking workshop presented by Canon Marketing Philippines on May 24 and 25, 2024, at Henry’s Photo Fiesta, One Ayala Mall, Makati, will feature instruction from acclaimed Filipino filmmaker Zig Dulay.

In addition to sharing his creative process—which includes scriptwriting, planning, and post-production—Dulay will offer advice to aspiring filmmakers throughout the session. Additionally, in the Canon exhibit, attendees will have the opportunity to receive hands-on experience with the Canon Cinema EOS camera, Cine-Lenses, and EOS R system.

“I’ve always loved telling stories, so it excites me to be in a position where I can impart my expertise to aspiring filmmakers. Hands-on workshops are a great way to support and empower Filipino innovation, especially when they are organized by recognizable companies like Canon”, according to Dulay.

Zig Dulay, a native of Isabela, is well-known for his work as a screenwriter and director of regional pictures that tackle social, political, and cultural themes. For his gripping narrative, he has won multiple awards, including Best Director for “Firefly” at the 1st Manila International Film Festival in the US. Critics have praised Dulay’s films “Black Rainbow,” “Bagahe,” “Akin Ang Korona,” “Paglipay,” and “Bambanti,” which have won important honors at international film festivals. He has also directed popular drama series on television, including “Sahaya,” “Legal Wives,” and “Maria Clara at Ibarra.”
