Canon Philippines Launches 2025 CSR Drive

Canon Philippines Launches 2025 CSR Drive with Baseco Beach Cleanup

A Commitment to Sustainability and Community Action

Canon Marketing Philippines is kicking off its 2025 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives with a strong focus on environmental conservation and sustainability. In partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation (ASSIST), the company organized a coastal cleanup drive at Baseco Beach in Tondo, Manila.

This marks Canon’s first major CSR effort of the year, reinforcing its long-standing commitment to protecting the environment, empowering communities, and fostering sustainable practices.

Employees Take Action for Coastal Conservation

With around 50 employee volunteers, Canon Marketing Philippines demonstrated hands-on environmental responsibility by collecting plastic waste and debris along the shore. The goal was not just cleanup—it was about helping restore the ecosystem and raising awareness about the importance of responsible waste management and ocean conservation.

According to Anuj Aggarwal, President and CEO of Canon Marketing Philippines, this initiative represents the company’s deeper mission: “Building a better future starts with the steps we take today. This marks the beginning of our CSR journey for 2025, and we hope to inspire others to adopt environmental stewardship alongside us.”

Beyond simply removing waste, the cleanup allowed employees to directly engage with environmental challenges, seeing firsthand the impact of pollution on coastal communities.

Education and Awareness: More Than Just Cleanup

Canon ensured that the Baseco Beach cleanup wasn’t just a one-time event. Representatives from DENR and ASSIST conducted educational discussions and training sessions, teaching volunteers the proper methods of waste segregation and recycling.

Participants also learned about ongoing environmental issues, including the effects of ocean pollution, the significance of marine biodiversity, and how individual actions can lead to larger, sustainable changes.

By blending action with education, Canon’s initiative empowered volunteers to become advocates for environmental protection, extending their impact beyond the event itself.

A Bigger Sustainability Roadmap for 2025

Canon’s CSR roadmap for 2025 focuses on three key pillars:

  • Environmental sustainability through waste reduction, carbon footprint minimization, and cleaner community initiatives.
  • Community empowerment by supporting local education, skills training, and social programs.
  • Innovation beyond imaging by integrating eco-friendly business operations and product design.

Canon’s sustainability goals go beyond one-off events—it’s about long-term changes that benefit both the planet and people.

Canon’s Commitment to Green Innovation

As a global leader in imaging and technology, Canon integrates sustainability into every aspect of its operations. The company follows its Kyosei philosophy, meaning “living and working together for the common good”—a principle reflected in both its business strategy and community outreach programs.

Canon remains committed to:

  • Reducing environmental impact across its product lifecycle.
  • Developing energy-efficient imaging technology.
  • Championing CSR projects that bring meaningful change to communities.

Through its continued leadership in innovation, Canon Marketing Philippines aims to contribute to a greener future that benefits generations to come.

Looking Ahead: More CSR Initiatives to Follow

Canon has more initiatives lined up throughout 2025, ensuring that sustainability remains a core aspect of its operations and partnerships. Future projects will include corporate-driven environmental programs, employee volunteerism, and social responsibility efforts, all designed to drive long-term change in Philippine communities.

By reinforcing its role in corporate sustainability, Canon Marketing Philippines is leading by example—showing that businesses can play an active role in environmental protection while continuing to grow and innovate.
