India Takes the Torch as the Next APAC Predator League Host
Kuala Lumpur, 13 January 2025 – The APAC Predator League 2025 was nothing short of epic! Held in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, the competition saw top teams from 14 regions battling it out. In the end, Team Alter Ego (VALORANT) and Myth Avenue Gaming (Dota 2) emerged victorious, lifting the coveted Predator Shield and walking away with a whopping USD 65,000 each in prize money.
The atmosphere was electric as the fierce competition came to a close. Acer announced that the next APAC Predator League will be hosted by the Acer India office. This move highlights Acer’s ongoing commitment to supporting gamers and fostering the growth of esports in the region. Harish Kohli, President and Managing Director of Acer India, proudly received the Predator League pennant from Kon Tek Yoong, Managing Director of Acer Malaysia, in a grand ceremonial handover.
In a dramatic twist, Team ZOL Esports, the first runner-up for VALORANT, mounted a stunning comeback! They won six consecutive matches, leveling the score at 11:11 from 5:11. However, Alter Ego showed incredible resilience and teamwork, eventually shutting down their opponents and clinching the victory.
The home crowd went wild for Myth Avenue Gaming as they defeated Team Helios with a decisive 2-0 victory in the Dota 2 Grand Finals. The cheers were deafening as they lifted the Predator Shield, celebrating their win in front of their adoring fans.
But the excitement didn’t stop there! In addition to the Predator Shield, ten special awards with a total prize pool of USD 20,000 were up for grabs in the Intel Allstar Vote for both VALORANT and Dota 2. Fans voted for their favorite players based on their roles in the tournament. Two players were crowned Intel MVPs for their stellar performances, each receiving USD 10,000 as a reward for their efforts.
The two-day APAC Predator League 2025 Grand Finals was more than just a tournament. It was a celebration of esports culture and entertainment. The event featured a variety of activities that bridged the gap between gamers and non-gamers, highlighting energy, teamwork, and community.
Acer also introduced new elements to this year’s Predator League. Two exclusive champion avatars, Nero and Yuffy, made their debut alongside an animated video and the Predator “It Lies Within” theme song in local languages. The audience was thrilled by performances from Sandara Park and Minzy of the K-pop group 2NE1, Malaysian stars Aina Abdul and Hael Husaini, and G22 from the Philippines. Another major highlight was the Coswalk Competition, which showcased Malaysia’s top cosplay talent. Standout costumes and character portrayals included Valkia the Bloody from Warhammer: Age of Sigmar by Vinca Kazuki, Thanatos from Persona 3 by Mak, and S.I.C. Amazon Alpha by Saiful SS Prop, earning top prizes from a RM 25,000 pool.
