Microsoft Launches Surface Go an Affordable Tablet
Microsoft recently announced the Surface Go a more affordable member of their Surface Family of laptops/tablets. The Go features a 10-inch monitor integrated kickstand, Windows 10 and has a similar keyboard and stand design as the Surface Pro. The Surface Go has Intel’s Pentium Gold 4415Y processor powering it with either 4 or 8GB of RAM and 64GB of eMMC storage or a 128GB SSD. The processor is a dual-core seventh-generation model which is a generation old but it still up to the challenge, chosen because of its balance between performance, battery life, and thermal properties that allow for a thin, fanless design.
Microsoft announced that the battery life lasts up to nine hours, that is a bold claim that still needs to be verified when the actual units are released in the market. Microsoft will initially launch the WiFi version followed by a device which will be capable of LTE connectivity. Microsoft is clearly targetting tablet users who use Bluetooth keyboards to type and use the device for productivity.
The Surface Go is now for free order in the US on July 10 and will be shipped starting in August. The Device retails at USD 399 for the 4 GB model and USD 599 for the 8 GB version. As of writing this article we still have no information on when the Microsoft Surface Go will be released in the Philippines.
